Got to play a bit of the third installment of the Borderlands series with Liz tonight. I had a good deal of fun. I’m not sure if she did or not but hopefully we’ll get to complete the story together at least. The Borderlands games are, I feel, pretty fun. In this one I get to play as Claptrap. I don’t know what else to say. Any game where I can play Claptrap is basically perfect. We’ll see if the rest of the game holds up to that high water mark.
You are on a moon in this game where Oxygen is scarce. A fun mechanic is that you can break the oxygen masks of your enemies and then they’ll die even if you don’t hit them anymore (suffocating, obviously). I’m already a fan of trying to crit off of every shot and now there is an additional mechanic. Clap’s special is incredibly cool. He summons random dysfunctional Claptraps to his aid and they wreck house. The only one that has really gotten me killed so far is the samurai one.
Regardless of how it goes down I’ll be giving this game a full review once I am done. I can already feel my HDD sobbing beneath the weight of all the screenshots I’ll be taking.
