Game Day Thursday – Heroes of the Storm and Warlords of Draenor
Today in Heroes of the Storm I ended up playing Raynor and Uther. Raynor is one of the “Easy” characters and he certainly fits the bill. He is a ranged assassin character, I’m actually not sure if he is literally those two things but he acts like it. Basically you use an assault rifle, rallying cries, and even automatic healing to keep the fight heated. With a few perks you can start disabling your enemies when they try to flee.
One of his two ultimate moves involves calling in the Hyperion. His ship from Starcraft. It’s one of my favorite supers in terms of visual excitement and efficiency. That ship is great at obliterating your entire enemy team if they are on the defensive. It travels a fair distance and manages to move fast enough to keep up with folks long enough to take a chunk of health off.
Uther is a melee hero character. I didn’t hate playing him but I wasn’t very fond of him either. Two of his moves are heals, one of them hurts and heals, and the third is a stun attack move. I don’t know what to say about him really, he’s one of the more famous characters from the Warcraft series (less so the World of Warcraft series). When he dies he becomes a healing avatar that can power heal everyone around you. I quite like doing that. I’d say my favorite part of playing him is that moment after your first death and before your second one.
Today we knocked out another level in Warcraft. During my stream I got three to four people trolling it. Telling me about the “WoW Virus” and how I needed to start Skype or else my game would crash. I’m not entirely sure but if they weren’t trolling then they are people I know who were using secondary accounts. It was funny regardless, gave me a bit of a smile while we were playing.
Playing a hunter is relaxing, I had forgotten quite how relaxing. I have few complaints about the class. I think it is one of the better designed classes in the game. Hunters have the power level that I feel like all other classes should feel. It allows you to do great deals of damage while simultaneously looking cool and having a good time. I don’t know why it’s so hard for them to do this more than once, but apparently it is a genuinely difficult thing.
Arguably Shamans were that kind of fun before all the changes. Now they sorta fall into that Arcade gameplay style that they’ve reduced most classes to. Anyways, not much else to add. Gonna go get some sleep now. Thanks trolls, rarely the case but I enjoyed you being there.
