Today we’ll be in kinda spoiler territory. Very small fry stuff that is more easter eggs than anything. I can probably talk about a fair amount of it without actually using any names. But the one name I will use is about a 4th wall breaking character you can acquire in the game. I’ll put the rest of this conversation on the other side of a MORE tag, just to save some folks who are still trying to keep totally fresh for the game.
I was really happy when this happened. It’s a small thing but having the game head developer and writer in the game is super cool. I wish games like Smash Bros had Miyamoto in them. I think most folks would find that fun. It’s nice to not take yourself too seriously and to have a bit of fun with your image.
Finding Quiet is something that shouldn’t be hard but required me having Liz look it up. I walked around that base for a good 30 minutes before I located her. Even with a sign pointing out her location…
I might get caught but I’ll be damned if I’m going to war anything less than fabulous!
Vampire Raptor is in my combat unit, because of course he is.
I’ve moved into Africa and brought along Quiet with me. My only complaint about Africa is that the helicopter points are far and few between. But driving around isn’t too bad and Quiet is obscenely powerful. She runs faster than me, jumps a hundreds of feet at a time, and has the kind of aim that I’m still not able to match. I’ve gotten our friendship high enough that I was allowed to alter her sniper rifle to a tranquilizing one. Once I get a silencer on that the world will be my (our?) oyster.
She’s now neck and neck with D-Dog as my favorite of the companions. With D-Walker coming in third and D-Horse holding up the rear. Nothing to be embarrassed about. I do hope that at some point they actually let us play as her (even if it requires S ranks on missions or something silly) but I suspect she’ll be relegated to showing me up at every opportunity. She doesn’t even wear a safety harness when the helicopter takes off. Just vertical leaps onto the damn thing while it’s airborne and hangs off the side like gravity isn’t a thing.
Snake will keep securing himself to the helicopter though. He knows that safety is important.
