You can find the text logs for this fight here. Tonight was not a bad night, heroics are feeling a little less like a kick in the ass. I can’t say that I like Hellfire Assault still, even on Heroic it’s a terrible fight. It isn’t hard, nor is it easy, my biggest problem is not difficulty but the mundanity of it. I think it could have been done better, which I might write about sometime, but for now it simply fails. It doesn’t help that the gear from it is terrible.
Next we move onto the Reaver. I don’t know how I feel about this fight anymore. On Heroic it’s at least a little more hectic which is nice. For Shaman’s the single targets fights are boring as dirt. There is just nothing flashy going on for us. Punch, punch, lightning, punch, punch, lightning. With multi target fights I get to make cool explosions all the time. They have this satisfying thud when they go off. But single target is dryer than a scented sheet.
Finally Kormrok is a return to quality. I like him a lot still. His moves are mostly great, his design is mostly great, and the zone you fight him in looks real good. A beautiful use of colors and mechanics. This is about where the quality of the entire raid just starts shooting for the stars. This is a very good fight on Heroic. I liked it a great deal. There are even AOE phases with the hands! I get to see so many kabooms!
We made it to the Hellfire Council as well. They are pretty fun also, we didn’t beat them but that’ll happen Wednesday with little doubt on my part. I like them, having a chance to cleave is good for me because it helps wake me up.
The video will be up at some point in the next 24 hours. Otherwise this was a good run. I think we might actually be getting AOTC on this silly thing. It’ll be neat to close out this expansion with a full set of completed Heroic raids. After that I might hang up my raiding gloves, but for now it’s a good adventure.
